Troll Hunter Remake and Possible Sequel

Sunday, May 1st, 2011

Andre Ovredal’s mockumentary The Troll Hunter is one film I just have to see, I’ve mentioned it many times and it doesn’t matter how many times I’ve seen that trailer, it still looks freaking awesome!

Anyway we reported last year that Universal had brought the rights to remake The Troll Hunter but in fact it seems that may not be the case.

Recently Andre Ovredal spoke to the guys over at Bloody-Disgusting about the rumoured remake;

“Actually, we’re not really talking with Universal about that… now there is another production company here… I hope we’re signing the contracts very soon.”

Andre Ovredal goes on to talk about the possibility of a sequel;

“Eventually…[there's] high demand in Norway for a sequel, actually. People are sending me personal Facebook messages every week saying, ‘Where is the sequel? Come on, get it out!’

To read the rest of the interview head on over to Bloody-Disgusting. Be sure to check out The Troll Hunter when it hits VOD on May 6th and then in theatres on May 10th.

Tim Burton to Work on a Nightmare Before Christmas Sequel?

Saturday, January 1st, 2011

According to the guys over DreadCentral, they received word, that while Tim Burton is currently working on his adaptation of Dark Shadows, he could be getting ready to start on a sequel to a Nightmare Before Christmas. Nothing is confirmed, but according to DreadCentral the information comes from a reliable source.

Here’s what DreadCentral have revealed; “The news comes to us from a recent interview with Paul “Pee-wee Herman” Reubens (who worked with Burton on Pee-wee’s Big Adventure) in promotion of his live Broadway show, which closes January 2nd but is being taped for HBO. When asked if he would like to work with Burton again, Reubens replied that he’d like to, but Burton has so many projects happening right now, including Dark Shadows, it’s not likely. He went on to mention a few more, but the big reveal came when Reubens mentioned that Burton is also planning a sequel to The Nightmare Before Christmas.”

This is awesome stuff, if you’ve been waiting for some more Jack Skeleton, and who reckons if the sequel does actually happen, it will be shot in 3D? Its just bound to happen and well, why not. I personally would like to see a sequel to Edward Scissorhands, or better yet a prequel?
