Walking Dead Season 2.5 Nebraska First 3 Minutes

Wednesday, February 1st, 2012

The first 3 minutes of the upcoming Walking Dead Season episode called Nebraska has just hit the web. Many of you like me have been dieing to checkout the second half of Walking Dead Season 2.

To be completely up front I think that delaying the second half of the series this long was a bit of a bonehead move since all the build up from the first half has definitely washed away at this point. I would kind of like to rewatch them so I can get back up to speed but then I am sure AMC will replay the entire first half of Walking Dead Season 2 to sell a few more ad spots on the boob tube.

Dont missThe Walking Dead at 9/8c on Feb 12, 2012.

Watch Walking Dead Season 2: Episode 6 Free Sneak Peak

Saturday, November 19th, 2011

I have to be honest I was a huge fan of Walking Dead Season one and I literally waited with anticipation for Sunday to see the next episode. As much as I want to say I feel the same way about Season 2 I simply can not. It is a slow plodding affair and it seems that AMC has expanded to 13 episodes but rather then the writing team doubling the fun just added more worthless dialogue.

I am a huge proponent for zombies and the combination of human drama but Walking Dead Season 2 is less about survival then it is about the ridiculous dialogue which is tragic. Season One had the perfect mix of isolation, terror and human drama to make it a smash hit.

Season 2 so far has done nothing for me but make me hope things will get better and question the need for a third season without Frank Darabont. I am starting to wonder if we are starting to see why Frank left / was let go from the project after fighting over the direction of the series.

Season of the Witch (2011)

Reviewer Rating:

Rating #:

4/10

Director:

Dominic Sena

Runtime:

95 minutes

Cast:

Nicolas Cage,
Ron Perlman,
Stephen Graham,
Claire Foy,
Stephen Campbell Moore,
Robert Sheehan

Overall:

Despite all the negative, I wasn't bored by the flick and got some nice chuckles outta some of the unintentionally funny scenes and dialogue. Even so, it's a decent B-movie, but a bad flick in all other respects. Unless you want to see more cage and his wild greasy uncombed hair, I'd advise skipping this.Baring no relation to the George Romero flick with the same name, Season of the Witch is a silly period adventure horror pic that starts off mediocre and quickly descends into the ridiculous. By the end you'll likely question how a film like this even made it to the theaters.

The story follows Nic Cage and Ron Perlman as a couple badass crusaders, hacking and slashing their way through whomever the King deems an advisory. This apparently includes women and children, which doesn't bode well for Cage's character. Thus, he and his buddy Perlman abandon the King's army and set off to no particular destination. They eventually find themselves in a plague-ridden town, where they're captured and given the choice to either die or accept the task to escort a captive "witch" to a group of far-away monks, in hopes of ridding the curse she has set upon the world.

Spewing cheesy one liners and offering some serious questionable acting from the start, Season of the Witch is essentially an unintentional B-movie that somehow made it to theaters. The thin and predictable script does away fairly early with any intrigue associated with the woman they have caged up, and whether or not she's an actual witch. Sad, considering it was probably the only aspect I found interesting about the story.

The characters are made up your standard clichéd miss-matched bunch you'd expect from a film like this — you've got the shifty thief, a dubious monk, and of course the young wannabe knight, to name a few. Mostly an adventure flick, the movie doesn't veer towards more horror territory until it nears its climax, where it gives us some of the worst CG effects I've seen for a theatrical release in quite some time.

Despite all the negative, I wasn't bored by the flick and got some nice chuckles outta some of the unintentionally funny scenes and dialogue. Even so, it's a decent B-movie, but a bad flick in all other respects. Unless you want to see more cage and his wild greasy uncombed hair, I'd advise skipping this.

Robert Kirkman Talks Walking Dead Season 2

Thursday, March 3rd, 2011

Who here cannot wait for The Walking Dead season 2? I for one enjoyed the first season but I felt it got a little bit weaker as it went on, but that’s just me. With season 2 on the horizon, whether it will air this October or not, its still in question. But Robert Kirkman recently spoke with Entertainment Weekly and talked a little about season 2.

Kirkman explains that they are mapping out everything at the moment and to expect a lot of cool ideas and twist and turns.

Kirkman goes onto say; “I know [showrunner Frank Darabont] has said we’re going to see Hershel’s farm. We’re looking to take some picturesque rural landscapes and playing with that and coming up with some cool zombie visuals. We’ll see some of the locations of the first season, but we’re going to mainly focus on breaking new ground. Oh, and we’re going to feature a lava planet.”

To read the rest of the interview head on over to EW.

Let speculation begin, what do you guys think?
