Now we live in a strange world when Birdemic lands on Blu-ray with special features before Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds, it just seems strange.

Anyway I think Birdemic is pretty much a homage, in a way to Hitchcock’s classic and if you haven’t witnessed Birdemic: Shock and Terror I think its one of these films you have to watch at least once in your life, just to experience the insanity. I mean it stars Tippi Hendren!

Giallo Will Finally Be Released On DVD In the States

Friday, January 21st, 2011

Adrien Brody had some issues with the producers of Dario Argento’s Giallo. Apparently he was still owed 0,000 so he decided to sue to block the release here in the states. Now he has finally gotten his money and the suit has been settled. Early word on the film however is not good. But as long as its Argento behind the camera its worth at least one viewing like every Romero film.

In Giallo Brody plays an FBI agent hunting a serial killer in Italy and following his payment he made this statement according to Deadline, “I very much enjoyed the process of making Giallo, and am happy that things have been resolved and that people can now enjoy seeing the film.

The Dead to be Released in U.S. Theatres

Friday, January 14th, 2011

Well its been a very long time since we heard anything about Howard J. Ford’s African zombie film, it just seemed to have vanished, but thanks to the guys at STYD, that is all about to change, as The Dead is finding U.S. distribution for a theatrical release and will be announced soon, hopefully.

Director Howard J. Ford told STYD; “Sorry it’s taken a long while to get news out. In truth, it’s taken us a year longer than anticipated for distribution to be agreed but for very good reason: We could have taken 100+ deals from distributors for The Dead to just go out on DVD but we didn’t nearly kill ourselves shooting this movie on 35mm film across Africa for it not to go out on the big screen.”

Apparently The Dead will be shown initially in twenty major cities this coming Spring, depending on how many people turn up for the initial release, if all is well the film will expend to further cities.

Who do you think has picked up The Dead for a theatrical release? I’m thinking Magnet Releasing as they seem to be picking up loads of intriguing films recently.

Synopsis: “After his plane crashes in the South African bush, Brian Murphy joins forces with Daniel Dambele to cross the vast desert by any means necessary. A daunting task under normal circumstances becomes particularly challenging after the zombie apocalypse.”
