No, its not actually my final destination, this is in actual fact an upcoming non-profit fan film aptly titled My Final Destination. The film comes via Double-R Productions who have become well known in making fan-films from popular films, and Final Destination is no exception.
As My Final Destination is a non-profit film, it will not be released, but it will be available for free on YouTube later in the year. In the meantime, we have our hands on the teaser poster and teaser trailer, which I must say, looks really good. Check it out and support these guys.
A film that is being billed as the first ever British movie to be shot in 3D is something that caught my eye, not necessarily for the 3D but due to the synopsis and the awesome talent involved. Eldorado 3D sounds as if it is going to be awesome and we have all the details including the release date, head on down below.
Eldorado 3D is directed by Richard Driscoll and stars Daryl Hannah, David Carradine, Michael Madsen, Steve Guttenberg, Brigitte Nielsen, Jeff Fahey, Patrick Bergin, Bill Moseley and Sylvester McCoy.
Synopsis: “After wrongly being sent to a Neo Nazi fund raiser instead of a Bar Mitzvah, Blues Brothers tribute band ‘The Jews Brothers’, Stan and Ollie, get offered a gig in El Dorado to make amends for the gig gone sour. At the very same time Jessica, a beautiful but despondent wife is on the run with a million dollars from her cheating husband’s night club. All roads lead to El Dorado; these lives intersect and at this point it means trouble. While these small lives revolve around each other, a bigger power is controlling the action to make their visit to this town one they will never forget. It’s El Dorado’s 200th anniversary, the townsfolk are hungry to celebrate, which does prove unfortunate for the tourists who come to visit and find that they are the dish of the day.”
This one hits DVD and Blu-ray in the UK on January 30, 2012. Unfortunately we don’t have a U.S. date at this time, but stay tuned for that one. You can pre-order Eldorado over at Amazon.
Here we have our first look at Mark Edwin Robinson’s horror/thriller The Levenger Tapes, and it sounds intriguing, check out the synopsis and the poster courtesy of AFM.
The film star’s Johanna Braddy, Lili Mirojnick, Morgan Krantz and Chris Mulkey.
Also, IMP Awards have a few character posters if you’d wish to take a look.
Synopsis: “Detectives in a remote town pore through every frame of a troubling tape to find the whereabouts of 3 missing college students. The chilling footage becomes more and more disturbing when the students come upon the bloody dress of an 8-year-old girl in the secluded wilderness, and take it upon themselves to find her. Linking the case of the missing girl and the missing students together, the detectives race to piece enough information together to find them alive.”
Fans of giant b-movie monsters will want to keep their eyes on this one, as this looks set to be awesome. Epic Pictures Group is currently under-going post-production on Mega Spider (Dino Spider), so while we wait for a trailer we have the synopsis and the poster for you guys.
The film is directed by Mike Mendez, produced by Patrick Ewald, Shaked Berenson and Travis Stevens, which stars Greg Grunberg, Lombardo Boyar, Clare Kramer, Ray Wise, Patrick Bauchau and the very awesome Lin Shaye.
Synopsis: “A 50 foot tall alien spider escapes from a military lab and rampages the city of Los Angeles. When a massive military strike fails, it is up to a team of scientists, soldiers, and one clever exterminator to kill the creature before the city is destroyed.”
Courtesy of the guys over at DreadCentral we have a new image from Mikael Hafstrom’s exorcism film The Rite, in which Sir Anthony Hopkins looks as sinister and menacing as ever. Check out the brand new image below:
The Rite is written by Michael Petroni and directed by Mikael Hafstrom, the film stars Sir Anthony Hopkins, Colin O’Donoghue, Alice Braga, Ciarian Hinds & Rutger Hauer.
Synopsis: “Inspired by true events, The Rite follows skeptical seminary student Michael Kovak (Colin O’Donoghue), who reluctantly attends exorcism school at the Vatican. While in Rome, he meets an unorthodox priest, Father Lucas (Anthony Hopkins), who introduces him to the darker side of his faith.
Directed by Mikael Håfström, The Rite is a supernatural thriller that uncovers the devil’s reach to even one of the holiest places on Earth. Contrafilms’ Beau Flynn and Tripp Vinson (The Exorcism of Emily Rose) are producing the film. The screenplay was penned by Michael Petroni (upcoming The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader), inspired by the book by Matt Baglio. Christy Fletcher and Emma Parry are co-producing. Richard Brener, Merideth Finn and Robert Bernacchi serve as executive producers.
Hopkins stars as Father Lucas. Making his feature film debut, O’Donoghue stars as Michael Kovak, the disillusioned American seminary student. Alice Braga plays the role of Angeline, a journalist in Rome doing research on exorcisms. Ciarán Hinds portrays Father Xavier. Toby Jones plays the role of Father Matthew, and veteran actor Rutger Hauer takes on the role of Michael’s father, Istvan Kovak.”
If you was wondering what the new Peter Vincent character looked like, in the upcoming Fright Night remake, well wonder no more as below are the first images of his character played by David Tennant Britain’s Dr. Who fame, I tell you he is hardly recognizable.
In the original 1985 classic by Tom Holland the Peter Vincent character was played by Roddy McDowall and he was the host of a late night horror show aptly named ‘Fright Night’ in the remake or re imagining (how they like to call it) Peter Vincent is a magician in Las Vegas at the Hard Rock hotel & casino also named ‘Fright Night’ I guess being a host for a horror show isn’t what the kids want these days?
The original 1985 classic I hold dear to my heart just like the original Nightmare On Elm Street and have someone remake it and shake it up is a bit hard to swallow, but will I be checking it out when it’s released? Of course. It doesn’t mean I have to like it though.
The Fright Night remake is directed by Craig Gillespie and stars David Tennant, Colin Farrell, Imogen Poots, Anton Yelchin, Toni Collette, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse.
Fright Night is scheduled for release in theatres October 7, 2011.
