John Carpenter to Produce Brazilian Film ‘The Hell Within’

Friday, November 5th, 2010

The legend that is John Carpenter has been on a mission recently, as he returned to the directors chair with The Ward and the upcoming adaptation Darkchylde.

There is no stopping Carpenter as according to Variety he is set to produce a new horror film titled The Hell Within.

The film is set in Brazil’s Amazon jungle and follows a woman who on a quest deep into the Amazon jungle to save a girl, only to discover that the girl was bait.

It’s not much to go on, but Amazon jungle plus a girl used as bait sounds to me we may be in for some cannibal action, I wonder if the woman will be documenting her stuff on a video camera?

The Hell Within is to be directed by Dennison Ramalho and written by Jeff Buhler, stay tuned for casting news as it is released.

What do you guys think?

John Carpenter’s Next Fangland

Saturday, June 13th, 2009

A couple years ago John Carpenter was gearing up to direct an updated version of Dracula based on the novel Fangland written by John Marks. It’s centered on a New York-based producer who travels to Romania for an interview with a notorious European arms dealer, who turns out to be the modern-day Dracula.

Variety reports that the film is back on track once again. The first time around Hilary Swank was attached but she was not even mentioned this time around. Of course way back in 2008 she was a hot commodity. But after a couple of stinkers she is no longer fetching viewers like she used to. Keep it here for more and we will let you know if this film really gets off the ground this time.
