Official Trailer For Horror Musical Eldorado 3D

Wednesday, January 25th, 2012

I’m at a bit of a crossroads here. On one hand I really like the sound of Richard Driscoll’s horror musical Eldorado 3D. The film also has a stellar cast to boot, but for me, the trailer doesn’t really do anything for me. Maybe its just me, check out the official trailer below and see what you make of it.

Eldorado 3D is directed by Richard Driscoll and stars Daryl Hannah, David Carradine, Michael Madsen, Steve Guttenberg, Brigitte Nielsen, Jeff Fahey, Patrick Bergin, Bill Moseley and Sylvester McCoy.

Synopsis“After wrongly being sent to a Neo Nazi fund raiser instead of a Bar Mitzvah, Blues Brothers tribute band ‘The Jews Brothers’, Stan and Ollie, get offered a gig in El Dorado to make amends for the gig gone sour. At the very same time Jessica, a beautiful but despondent wife is on the run with a million dollars from her cheating husband’s night club. All roads lead to El Dorado; these lives intersect and at this point it means trouble. While these small lives revolve around each other, a bigger power is controlling the action to make their visit to this town one they will never forget. It’s El Dorado’s 200th anniversary, the townsfolk are hungry to celebrate, which does prove unfortunate for the tourists who come to visit and find that they are the dish of the day.”

This one hits DVD and Blu-ray in the UK on January 30, 2012. Unfortunately we don’t have a U.S. date at this time, but stay tuned for that one. You can pre-order Eldorado over at Amazon.

First Look At Horror Musical Eldorado 3D

Friday, January 6th, 2012

A film that is being billed as the first ever British movie to be shot in 3D is something that caught my eye, not necessarily for the 3D but due to the synopsis and the awesome talent involved. Eldorado 3D sounds as if it is going to be awesome and we have all the details including the release date, head on down below.

7 Horror Shorts To Watch This Holiday

Tuesday, December 27th, 2011

I’m pretty sure you guys have seen every single Christmas-themed horror movie known to man, and lets be honest, you can only watch the same few over and over. So here I bring to you 7 Christmas horror shorts, that you may have seen before, if not, then please enjoy and have a safe Holiday.

A Very Zombie Holiday

This one is basically a faux instructional video in the event of a zombie apocalypse during the Christmas period and how you can survive while still baking a pretty kickass pie. This one comes from Team Unicorn with Adam Green’s wife, Rileah Vanderbilt spearheading the short. I enjoyed it, and heck, I wish I was stuck with these ladies during the apocalypse.

Rare Exports Inc.

I couldn’t make a Christmas list without including Jalmari Helander Rare Exports. The same short from which the feature film was created from. However, if you haven’t seen the full film yet you may want to give this a miss as it spoils some of the film. Also, old-man jiggly bits aren’t something you want to see if you are of nervous disposition. If not go right ahead and enjoy this Christmas gem!

Black Santa’s Revenge

Before there was Hobo With a Shotgun, there was David Walker’s blaxploitation mini-epic Black Santa’s Revenge which stars genre legend Ken Foree. A little bit of grindhouse  for your Holidays, please enjoy and hopefully one day we may see a feature film.

My Name Is Kris Kringle

Here I bring to you Drew Daywalt’s My Name Is Kringle, a stellar little short which shows just what Santa does to those who have made it into his Naughty book. Prey you didn’t make the list!

www.youtube.com/watch?v=oiYugThx6UQ

Treevenge

Another short which is no stranger around these parts is Jason Eisener’s Treevenge. Before Hobo With a Shotguncame about, Eisner unleashed the full fury of Christmas pine trees, they have had enough of becoming a decoration and now its time for revenge, Treevenge that is.

Cold Night

When you think of Christmas and especially Christmas horror, you think of Santa Claus and his wrath of evil. However, you’d be missing one vital evil during this time, the goblin! While your eyes are averted and waiting for jolly Saint Nick, the goblin has the perfect chance to sneak up on you and take you out, check out Michael Nicle’s short and don’t say I didn’t warn you.

The Winter Stalker

Last, but by no means least is the truly awesome and well produced short The Winter Stalker Stephen Reedy. I don’t want to spoil this one, so I won’t say anything as anything I say will truly spoil it. :) Check it out and thanks for watching and have a safe and merry Christmas everyone!

Upcoming 2012 Horror Movies Preview Part 1

Saturday, December 24th, 2011

So as 2011 winds down and we all wake up from our New Year’s Eve drunken stupors trying to figure out if we hooked up with a really attractive lady (you didn’t) or if instead we spent the night huffing bleach and kicking the wooden panel walls at our uncles’ home (you did).  After that whole mess gets sorted out, prepare to fill your brains and eyeballs with a whole lot of horror coming out in the calendar year 2012.

To help you make some decisions and to also provide an outlet for my own respectful, but still smartass comments, I’ve given you a list of a whole lot of horror movies for you to look forward to in 2012.  Given the nature of the movie business, this list is very subject to change at anyone’s whim, so try to use it as more of a guideline instead of sending me hate mail since a movie you wanted to see got pushed back.  I couldn’t include every single horror movie coming out next year and I don’t mean that as a sign of disrespect, but I had to cut this off somewhere.

The cut off of course happened entirely at my discretion for no discernible reason.  And they say I’m not professional… whatever.  Enjoy the list! Special Thanks to imdb.com and upcominghorrormovies.com for all of the synopsis’ and providing me with a great base of research.

Kill List (Dir: Ben Wheatley – January 4th, 2012)

Synopsis:  Eight months after a disastrous job in Kiev left him physically and mentally scarred, ex-soldier turned contract killer Jay, is pressured by his partner Gal, into taking a new assignment. As they descend into the dark, disturbing world of the contract, Jay begins to unravel once again – his fear and paranoia sending him deep into the heart of darkness.

My Thoughts: I’m always a sucker for assassin films, so expect this to be high on my “must see” list.  Throw in the fact that the film explores psychological hitman trauma, paranoia, and contracts signed in blood and you already have my ticket money.  This film has been setting fire to the festival circuit over the past few months and on January 4th you can see it on VOD.  I’ll be there.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLfN63uCzvk

Beneath The Darkness (Dir: Martin Guigui – January 6th, 2012)

Synopsis: After watching their best friend get murdered, a group of teens struggle to expose a local hero as the vicious killer and keep from becoming his next victims.

My Thoughts: Starring Dennis Quaid, this film looks like it could be another great entry into the 80s staple horror genre known as “teens vs. evil adults”.  It has some Lynchian overtones as well, whereas the monster is living next door to you in the suburbs behind a glorious and safe façade.  I can’t really say anything good or bad about director Marin Guigui since I haven’t seen a single frame of his work, so for all I know this film might have a dedicated and loyal genre hound behind the helm, or it could be completely mishandled into a family friendly PG-13 piece of garbage.  We’ll have to wait and see.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=39BP5sQDQnA

The Devil Inside (Dir: William Brent Bell – January 6th, 2012)

Synopsis: In 1989, emergency responders received a 9-1-1 call from Maria Rossi (Suzan Crowley) confessing that she had brutally killed three people.  20 years later, her daughter Isabella (Fernanda Andrade) seeks to understand the truth about what happened that night.

My Thoughts: The synopsis doesn’t add in the fact that exorcisms are in play here.  Honestly, I feel like the exorcism genre is completely on its last leg and should just be put to sleep for the next 20 or so years.  There was the Exorcist, then a group of maybe 5 good exorcism movies, then thousands of pieces of garbage.  I hope however that this film is in the former, since I am really digging the investigative angle the film could be coming from.  I’ll still give it a shot because maybe I’m completely wrong about this exorcism fad.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VIyO9UlnJ0

Underworld Awakening (Dirs: Mans Marlind, Bjorn Stein – January 20th, 2012)

Synopsis: Selene, who escapes imprisonment to find herself in a world where humans have discovered the existence of both Vampire and Lycan clans, and are conducting an all-out war to eradicate both immortal species.

My Thoughts: Kate Beckinsale wears sexy fetishistic leather while being a badass and killing werewolves.  Honestly you aren’t getting more out of me since this is the fourth entry into the series of big budget horror films which statistically, you have probably already seen.  You already know if you are going to see this one or not.
