First Judge Dredd Remake Photo

Sunday, July 17th, 2011

This is borderline as to whether we should be covering Judge Dredd or not but I am sure you will all forgive me. The second photo of Karl Urban as Judge Dredd has hit the web via BC showing Karl Urban as Dredd wearing the iconic helmet from the comics.

If you ignore DOOM and Pathfinder Karl Urban has had an ok career capped with a top performance in the Star Trek remake. I think he has the look and potential of pulling off a stark and dangerous Dredd character. The original film which starred Diane Lane  ( who is just a shot now as she was then ) and Sylvester Stallone may have been panned by critics but I still loved it. Lena Headey from The Sarah Conner Chronicles and 300 is co-starring and my assumption is she will play the role Diane Lane did in the first film.

The remake is called ‘Dredd’ and is slated for a release in 2012. It is based off the comic and set in a violent, futuristic city, the police have the authority to act as judge, jury and executioner. I am looking forward to this film alot more then the Total Call Remake or the Fright Night remake that is for sure!

Saturday, April 16th, 2011

David R. Ellis’ Shark Night 3D at one time was going to be titled Untitled 3D Shark Thriller as Ellis hated the title of Shark Night but I guess thats a thing of the past.

Anyway thanks to the studio we have the first high-res image from the upcoming Shark Night film which features Sara Paxton in quite the predicament.

Shark Night 3D is set to hit theatres via Relativity this September 2nd. The film stars Dustin Milligan, Joel David Moore, Chris Carmack, Katharine McPhee and Sara Paxton.

Synopsis: “A group of friends spend a weekend at a lakeside house only to find that a danger lurks beneath the waters. Yet their biggest fear is realized when they discover that the lake’s shark inhabitants are not their only enemy. When attempts to skip town fail, one by one, these college kids — or the ones that are left — will have to battle their enemies head on in order to survive.”

First Stills from the Fright Night Remake

Thursday, April 7th, 2011

Craig Gillespie’s upcoming remake of Tom Holland’s absolute classic Fright Night still has a few more months to go till we can witness his take on the film, but until then take a gander at a couple of stills from the remake courtesy of the guys over at Moviefone.

I have to say these images haven’t really changed my view on the remake but perhaps it could live up to the original, we shall see.

Anyway the images consists of Colin Farrell (Jerry Dandridge), Anton Yelchin (Charlie Brewster), Imogen Poots (Amy Peterson) and Christopher Mintz-Plasse (“Evil” Ed).

Synopsis: “Senior Charlie Brewster (Anton Yelchin) finally has it all going on: he’s running with the popular crowd and dating the most coveted girl in his high school. In fact, he’s so cool he’s even dissing his best friend. But trouble arrives when Jerry (Colin Farrell) moves in next door. He seems like a great guy at first, but there’s something not quite right—but everyone, including Charlie’s mom (Toni Collette), doesn’t notice. After observing some very strange activity, Charlie comes to an unmistakable conclusion: Jerry is a vampire preying on the neighborhood. Unable to convince anyone, Charlie has to find a way to get rid of the monster himself in this Craig Gillespie-helmed revamp of the comedy-horror classic.”

Fright Night hits theatres on August 19, 2011.

First Image for Julian Richards ‘Shiver’

Monday, December 27th, 2010

Julian Richards upcoming thriller Shiver, recently had a brand new image make its way online, and we have it for you, thanks to the guys over at STYD. Richards previously gave us The Last Horror Movie, in which I loved, i thought it was so brutal and very  well done, so it will be interesting to see how he does with this one.

According to Richards, principal photography has been wrapped up and he likens Shiver to The Silence of the Lambs meets Halloween with a dash of Hitchcock. Sounds good to me.

Shiver stars Caspar Van Dien (Sleepy Hollow), Danielle Harris (Hatchet II, Halloween 4 & 5, Rob Zombie’s Halloween & Halloween II), Rae Dawn Chong (Commando), Luke Goss (Blade II, Hellboy II) and John Jarratt (Wolf Creek).

Synopsis: “Wendy Alden, a young, attractive secretary lacking in self- confidence and self-esteem becomes victim of a savage killer who has claimed the lives of a number of other women. Somehow Wendy finds resources of courage to fight back and escape.

Obsessed with killing Wendy, Franklin Rood, the killer, penetrates a police cordon set up to guard her by Det. Tony Delgado, the detective investigating the case. Again, she manages to escape, earning not only Rood’s grudging respect, but his twisted sense of love. He later kidnaps her and brings her to his hideout in the in the woods where he subjects her to a horrific ritual of psychological  torture. She is finally rescued and Rood is captured after Delgado succeeds in tracking the killer through a series of wily detection techniques.

In a diabolically daring and cunning plan, Rood escapes jail, killing several policemen in the process. Again, determined to kill Wendy and armed to the teeth, he storms into her office building. During a ferocious display of carnage, Rood is finally killed by Wendy who retrieves a slain security guard’s gun and shoots down the monster of her living nightmare. During the course of her odyssey, Wendy starts as a mouse, finally transforming into a lioness.”

First Look: Peter Vincent In Fright Night Remake

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

If you was wondering what the new Peter Vincent character looked like, in the upcoming Fright Night remake, well wonder no more as below are the first images of his character played by David Tennant Britain’s Dr. Who fame, I tell you he is hardly recognizable.

In the original 1985 classic by Tom Holland the Peter Vincent character was played by Roddy McDowall and he was the host of a late night horror show aptly named ‘Fright Night’ in the remake or re imagining (how they like to call it) Peter Vincent is a magician in Las Vegas at the Hard Rock hotel & casino also named ‘Fright Night’ I guess being a host for a horror show isn’t what the kids want these days?

The original 1985 classic I hold dear to my heart just like the original Nightmare On Elm Street and have someone remake it and shake it up is a bit hard to swallow, but will I be checking it out when it’s released? Of course. It doesn’t mean I have to like it though.

The Fright Night remake is directed by Craig Gillespie and stars David Tennant, Colin Farrell, Imogen Poots, Anton Yelchin, Toni Collette, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse.

Fright Night is scheduled for release in theatres October 7, 2011.

Check out the Peter Vincent (David Tennant) images below:
